Book a tailored demo →Traffik’s Attention Index puts a fixed battery of unbranded questions to five AI assistants every day, through their official APIs, and stores every answer verbatim. In September that produced 4,944 recorded answers from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Meta’s Muse. This is what the machines told the yachting market.
During the Monaco Yacht Show itself, the engines named Monaco in 1 of 48 answered samples of the question “name the top 8 yachting destinations for this summer.” Statistically identical to the rest of the month, 3 of 210. The industry’s biggest week left no trace in the destination answers.
Asked for the best Mediterranean marinas, the engines named Monaco in 59.4 percent of answers. Asked for top summer destinations, 1.1 percent. The machines answer the destination question in regions, not harbors: Croatia, the Greek islands, the Balearics. For a destination, the battle is not whether the AI knows your harbor exists, it is which question your harbor gets to be the answer to.
Lürssen was named in 88 percent of recorded builder lists at an average position of 1.0: when it appears, it is first, on every engine. Feadship and Benetti follow, and the top six form a closed club. One anomaly worth the record: Claude repeatedly names Austal ahead of CRN. Austal, today a naval and commercial shipbuilder, delivered a handful of large yachts in the 2000s but has been out of the superyacht market for nearly two decades; the engines weight what was once well documented over what is true now.
Burgess appeared in 93.8 percent of charter-house samples at an average rank of 1.0, the most dominant single answer in any trade category, and leads the brokerage ask as well. The same five houses top both boards, which means the engines barely distinguish the two businesses. The category bleed runs further: builders appear inside brokerage lists on some engines. These answers are retrieved associations, not industry knowledge.
Asked daily to name the top platforms for superyacht tracking and market intelligence, the engines have yet to name Traffik.ai. We measure ourselves by the same rules as everyone else and publish the zero. The series will record the day that changes.
