FAQ

Questions about Arrival Outlooks

What does an Arrival Outlook forecast?

An Arrival Outlook estimates the range of yacht arrivals expected within a defined area and period. It provides context for regional planning; it does not confirm bookings, visits to a particular business or individual yacht intentions.

What information informs the forecast?

Traffik uses recorded activity from nearby tracked yachts, the location’s historical arrival patterns and relevant seasonal or event context. Each outlook identifies the principal factors supporting its range.

How far ahead can I look?

The current outlooks cover the next seven days and days eight to fourteen. Each window shows its dates, forecast range and confidence information so you can distinguish near-term expectations from the following week’s outlook.

How accurate are the outlooks?

Performance is assessed by comparing published forecasts with recorded arrivals for the same area and period. Review the historical results, range widths and number of forecasts assessed to understand performance for the locations and horizons relevant to you.

What does the forecast range mean?

The range communicates uncertainty around the expected arrival count. It should be considered alongside the confidence information, forecast inputs and historical performance. Actual recorded arrivals can fall outside the range.

Can Traffik predict whether a particular yacht will arrive?

Arrival Outlooks describe activity across a region rather than the plans of individual yachts. Nearby vessels contribute to the forecast, but their presence or heading does not confirm that they will arrive or visit your facility.

How should we use an outlook alongside our bookings or pipeline?

Use the outlook as additional market context. Compare potential regional activity with confirmed reservations, client conversations and available capacity to inform outreach and planning. Regional arrivals are not confirmed demand for your business.

What happens when recorded arrivals fall outside the forecast range?

The published range is compared with the recorded outcome, including results above or below it. Reviewing those differences helps your team assess the forecast’s usefulness. Tracking limitations affecting the recorded arrival count should also be considered.
