Porto Cervo’s late-July presence ran well above its June norm.

The mean of daily hourly-median concurrent counts reached 18.6 yachts in the final week of July, against 9.6 across mid-to-late June, with a single-hour peak of 28.

What changed

The measure is the mean of each day’s hourly-median concurrent count of identified yachts 24 metres and over inside the marina fence. On that basis the final week of July ran at 18.6 against a June norm of 9.6, and the busiest single hour reached 28 on the evening of 26 July.

Revised 10 September 2026. The marina boundary was reviewed and tightened to the berth area; every figure above was re-derived on identical rules. The earlier, wider boundary read 11.8, 28.5 and 43 for the same periods. The pattern is unchanged; the water it describes is now precisely the marina.

Why it matters commercially

Concurrent counts, not daily arrival tallies, are the measure that answers “how busy is the harbor,” and they are the basis a berth-holder or operator can plan against.
